2026-09-21 · Waitlist removed, registration opened (media)

• Outlets (36kr among them) reported that Jev opened to all users with no waitlist and that new sign-ups get $5 of credit (about 120M tokens) — treat the console as the source of truth; not verified here (media)
• Launch week (9/15–9/21) also produced a wave of fake demos and inflated claims, and the community began debunking them (community observation; Builder.io video title verified)

2026-09-18 · Post-launch coverage (media)

TechCrunch and others covered “a ChatGPT inventor building a new kind of model,” relaying Vercel adoption figures — vendor-reported; not independently verified by this site.

2026-09-15 · Launch (official)

The official launch blog, “Introducing System One Models & Jev,” introduced the System One model class and its first model, Jev, in early access, with developers admitted from a waitlist (official).

Editor’s note

The official docs now state the 64k/32k request limits explicitly (64k per request; state + longest question ≤ 32k) — an upgrade from the 32k figure that circulated informally earlier. When quoting limits, defer to the current official models/api pages.
